It's been exactly a year since I last posted here. A far cry from the posting volume I managed during my attempt(s) at Project52. I can't even blame Twitter, I barely write there either.
I noticed a few weeks ago that this date was approaching, and I was hoping to find the time to put together something that represented the year I have had, but other things have got in the way.
As with a year ago, it makes sense to cover Shock first. I've had an astounding first year, I've worked on some really great projects, and I've managed to pay the bills along the way. This second year is going to be reflection and consolidation, before I branch out further in years to come. Got something you'd like a hand with? Drop me a line.
The other, kind of massive thing that's just happened, and is still sinking in, is that my long term girlfriend and I have finally parted ways. I think (and hope) that we're both doing Ok, but it's going to be a while before anything feels "normal" again. All I know is that parting ways is probably the best thing for now, she has things she wants to do, and unfortunately they don't match up with my aims anymore. Pip puts it far more eloquently.
Reading this back everything seems a bit melancholy, but this year has been a blast, and I wouldn't have had it any other way. Expect more activity here hopefully, I just need to take my own advice again.
I do have plans, I'm hoping to move this site from WordPress onto a much lighter Jekyll implementation, andy-pearson.com really needs some attention, and I guess Shock could probably use a website too.
Onwards and upwards, as they say.
